Join in 6th Grade!

Sixth grade is the best time to join the orchestra!  Here is what you need to know about orchestra class in 6th grade:
  • Orchestra classes are offered at each of our elementary school in Rockwall ISD
  • Classes are 45 minutes and meet three days a week based on your instrument
  • We start violin, viola, cello and string bass

If you want to join the orchestra in 6th grade, here is what you need to do:
  1. Put orchestra as your first choice on your Elective Choice form, which is typically send out in February/March.  If you missed this, please reach out to your school counselor or the middle school orchestra director.
  2. Sign up for a personal instrument screening appointment at the middle school.  Appointments will be available mid April.
  3. Obtain your instrument and supplies from one of our partner companies.  You will receive this information after our instrument screening.
