Spring Trip 2022
Atlanta, Georgia
March 16-20
The RHS Varsity Orchestra has been invited to perform at the 2022 ASTA National Orchestra Festival in Atlanta, Georgia in March 2022! This national convention/competition is a once-in-a lifetime performance opportunity for our student. The American String Teachers Association (ASTA) convention brings together orchestra musicians and teachers from all corners of the United States. To be invited to this convention, school orchestras from across the country submitted performance recordings that were adjudicated by a panel of experts. The RHS Varsity Orchestra’s performance represents the “best of the best,” and as such, we were invited to perform and compete at the national level. Heath High School’s Varsity Orchestra was also invited to perform at this convention will be traveling with us to Atlanta in order to reduce costs.
Because of the competitive nature of this performance, we are asking that ALL Varsity Orchestra students plan to attend the trip. This year, the trip is only for Varsity Orchestra because of the difficulty of music that we will be required to perform. This is a national competition judged by world-renowned adjudicators, and in order for us to perform at the highest level possible, we need the vast majority of our students to attend.
